What's Working...
What's Not...
- some students were able to reach Gold within 3 days, normally those students would have still been waiting for me to get through the basics in class
- I have been able to meet in small groups with my students that need modifications/accommodations and read to them in small groups and help them with questions
- I have shown the kids how to use Siri in case they prefer to have audio
- Students that have already leveled up are eager to help kids that level up after them understand directions or help them with questions
- I have been able to move around the classroom and monitor progress
- kids love putting their name on the board when they level up
- I no longer have the need for corrections because the kids go back and relearn areas of weakness then retest
- I am able to check their Cj before they level up which gives me a chance for formative assessment with each student on a regular basis
What's Not...
- I designed my first Bronze level to be too grueling; I should have made it more engaging
- On the day where I had kids at every level, my student with behavioral issues decided to act up and so that felt like the first challenging day
- I need to incorporate some time for the kids to have direct dialogue
- I need to make some of the assignments more like what I used previously but still self-paced
